Matisse’s paper cutouts inspired this iconic area rug designed by Sonya Winner Studio London. The irregular shaped modern rug has a sculptural quality with variable pile heights and hand carving.
The design is created from a playful collage of overlapping colors. The 25 wool colors replicate the effect of transparent colors mixing together. Seemingly smaller square rugs create a single continuous area rug from shades of blue, green, turquoise, yellow, orange, pink and purple. The effect of translucency can be seen in the aqua, turquoise, violet, rose and rust brown shades that emerge.
This contemporary designer rug is hand tufted in pure New Zealand wool by Good Weave artisan weavers. Handmade and hard wearing, this is an easily washable designer rug. Can also be displayed as wall hangings.
