DIY Ice Crafts
Turn the icy chill of winter into a artform with the following fun and creative crafts you can make with ice. Tell old man winter exactly where to put his frost. It is DIY time.
Icy Suncatcher
A cool craft from 3ABN makes sun catchers that will sparkle in the winter sun. It is all a matter of freezing colored ice cubes (just adding food coloring to water and freeze in ice cub trays) and then taking those colored cubes and adding them to a cake pan full of water that then gets frozen. Don't forget to place a small plastic cup near one end of the pan to make the hole.
Ice Lantern
Willowday shows how beautifully sophisticated ice can be, and this modern looking lantern is made using only a balloon, water and a small candle or light source.
Ice Bowl
To get this pretty ice bowl that can be used to hold chilled drinks or desert, set a medium size silicone bowl inside a larger one. Fill the space in between with water, flowers and greenery. Silk flowers are easy to use and available even in winter. Freeze and then gently remove the bowls.
Ice Candles
These beautiful ice candles will light up the night. They are formed the same way as the ice bowl, with one container nestled inside of another. The thick walls will hold up well through the night, even with the heat from a small candle.
